Newcastle United have been handed an apparent injury boost ahead of their weekend FA Cup clash with Manchester City. Pep Guardiola's side welcome the Magpies to the Etihad on Saturday evening for a quarter-final tie.
City have been rocked by an injury to star midfielder Kevin De Bruyne but Newcastle have been handed a fillip with Anthony Gordon potentially available.
The forward went off in their defeat to Chelsea on Monday night with his manager Eddie Howe initially concerned. But his knee injury is not as bad as first feared.
And the 23-year-old's inclusion in Gareth Southgate's England squad on Thursday afternoon suggests he is fit. The Three Lions play Brazil and Belgium in friendlies and Gordon is in line to feature.
