Airdrie town hall set to become vaccination centre for two years

iOS - Android The town hall on Stirling Street has been closed for the 18 months since the first coronavirus lockdown – with the exception of a month-long period early this year when it was used for vaccines before the process was centralised from community venues to the Ravenscraig supercentre.Prior to the pandemic, its two halls previously staged hundreds of functions each year, ranging from a host of shows and concerts to exhibitions, boxing matches, dinner dances, and around 100 weddings per year.

A spokesperson for North Lanarkshire Council told Lanarkshire Live: “We are working with the NHS and Scottish Government to support the successful rollout of the vaccination programme which will impact on some of our venues, including Airdrie.
