Wigan Warriors head coach Adrian Lam admits he is gutted that his side’s Challenge Cup trip to York City Knights will be played behind closed doors.
York is Lam’s favourite tourist destination in the UK and he enjoys paying a visit to the historic cathedral city. James Ford’s ambitious Championship outfit have made huge strides in recent seasons and recently moved into their new 8,005 all-seater stadium.
Sadly, Wigan’s trip to the York Community Stadium on the weekend of April 10-11 will be played in front of empty stands, with fans not set to be allowed back into grounds until May 17 at the earliest.
