‘100 Years Of Solitude’ Images Give A Peek Into Netflix’s Upcoming Adaptation Of The Gabriel García Márquez Classic

Images from the first season of 100 Years of Solitude reveal the look and feel of the eagerly anticipated adaptation of Gabriel García Márquez’s magical realist masterpiece.

The adaptation will be split across two eight-episode seasons and the first will launch on Dec. 11. The multi-generational tale follows the Buendía family and the founding of the mythical town of Macondo.

The series based on the classic novel is reckoned to be the biggest ever out of Colombia. García Márquez’s novel was first published in 1967, has sold more than 50 million copies and been translated into more than 40 languages.

The Netflix project has been sanctioned by the family of the author. Dynamo, producer of Narcos and Falco, is making the series.
