The M.E.N. has reported on 16 serious stabbing incidents since the turn of the year, the latest a 34-year-old man who was knifed inside a property in Ordsall, Salford, yesterday (Monday).

Others include a 14-year-old girl stabbed with a broken bottle in a school, a 62-year knifed in a supermarket car park and a 19-year-old who died after being stabbed outside a convenience store.

In most of the 16 serious stabbing incidents the M.E.N. has reported this year, detectives have stressed they were targeted attacks and that there was no wider threat to the public.
