Young cyclist dies after being hit by car in Manchester horror crash

A young man in his 20s has died after being hit by a car in south Manchester. The emergency services were scrambled to Princess Road in Manchester just before 2.30am yesterday morning (May 7) to a report of a road traffic collision involving a vehicle and a cyclist.

Emergency services attended the scene close to the junction with Platt Lane and the cyclist, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital where he has since sadly died.

Police Sergeant Phil Shaw, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts are very much with the man’s family at this devastating time.
