A 62-year-old man has tragically died after being bitten by a dog in Wrexham, police said. The man suffered a cardiac arrest and died at the scene, North Wales Police confirmed.

The force said officers were called to a "medical emergency" in the Holt Road area of Wrexham on Monday morning. Three emergency ambulances and two rapid response vehicles alongside a Wales Air Ambulance attended the scene of the incident, North Wales Live reports. "Welsh Ambulance Service reported that a 62-year-old male was in cardiac arrest after being bitten by a dog at the property.

Sadly, despite the best efforts of paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. "The man’s next of kin have been informed and our enquiries into this incident remain ongoing.
