A woman has shared a surprising hack that stops pasta water from boiling over onto a hob. Many will have experienced the rapid onset of bubbling that often spills over the side of the pot and can leave a hob looking stained and unpleasant. However, a woman who posts on TikTok under the username @sarahaulbrook has shared a simple trick that she claims stops the fizzling over in its tracks.According to the woman, named Sarah, all you have to do is coat the rim of your pot in olive oil.In a recent clip, she explains: "So random tip I was told and has saved me so many messes."Take olive oil and put on this brush and just brush it around the top of the pot when you're boiling pasta or anything like that, and the water won't boil over the olive oil line." Sarah finishes off by simply saying: "You're welcome."According to Good Food, olive oil stops pasta from overflowing as it changes the surface tension of the water which stops bubbles from forming. The video already has over 400,000 views as well as 15,000 likes from impressed viewers.

Many took to the comments to share their thoughts on the hack. One commented: "Genius I’m gonna try it today," while another said: "i just add a splash into water same when boiling potatoes saves my stove everytime."A third added: "Just put a splash of oil in the water.

Same result."Other users suggested an alternative, with one writing: "Save your oil. Use a wooden spoon. The wood absorbs the water and therefore the pot won’t over boil."Another agreed with this, stating: "Just put a wood spoon across the pot.

It won't overflow."However Sara said that this trick didn't work for her, commenting: "Lies haha I’ve had many a mess from that one."Do you use olive oil when boiling pasta?
