A Scots cyclist has told how she feels lucky to be alive after feeling her head ‘bounce’ off the road three times during a horror hit and run collision.
Audrey Power is appealing for the driver of the vehicle to come forward after she was knocked off her bike on the A6091 Melrose Bypass in the Scottish Borders on Sunday, December 4.
The 50-year-old, who has been cycling her whole life, was approaching the junction near the Borders General Hospital when a car ‘came flying out of nowhere’ and crashed into her.
She managed to drag herself onto Melrose roundabout where she collapsed but was helped by hero passersby who called 999. The business owner suffered a chipped bone in her arm, a large cut on her elbow, a head injury along with painful bruising and swelling on her left leg and hip.
