Woman falls from Thurso cliffs and breaks ankle week after tragedy in town

A woman has been left injured after a fall on cliffs near Puffin Cove in the Thurso area. Emergency services raced to the scene on Thursday following reports that the injured walker may have suffered from a broken ankle.

It's understood that the female who was with a male companion had slipped on a steep grassy slope while descending the cliffs in the East of Melvich.

It comes just over week after an 18-year-old woman fell to her death from a cliff in Thurso at Victoria Walk, just 13 miles away from Puffin Cove.

Alesha Wright was pronounced dead at the scene after the incident which also left Dominic Long, 26, with serious injuries on Monday, July 11.Thurso RNLI responded to the emergency at 12.32pm on Thursday and arrived on the scene with lifeboat 'The Taylors' at 1.04pm.
