Glasgow. The blaze ripped through a flat in in Whitby Street in the Parkhead area of the city this afternoon sparking an emergency response at around 12.40pm.

A 49-year-old woman was rushed by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary while three girls were taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.40pm on Friday, 2 October, 2020, police and emergency services were called to a report of a fire at a flat in Whitby Street, Glasgow.“A 49-year-old woman has been taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary and three female youths have been taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital as a precaution.“The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and the residents have been.
