Perth and Kinross residents may attempt “potentially dangerous” DIY firework displays due to the cancellation of official Bonfire Night events.

It comes after Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) underlined the dangers of fireworks as most large-scale public events are being called off due to the COVID pandemic.

Families and communities in Perth and Kinross were also being reminded that bonfires and the private use of fireworks can cause “significant injury”, present a “particular risk to children” and can also distress pets.
