A woman is due to appear in the crown court later this month charged with the attempted murder of a 20-year-old man at a railway station.

Andrea Reid, 53, of Clough Avenue, Wilmslow, has been charged with a single count of attempted murder, British Transport Police has confirmed.

It follows an alleged incident at Handforth railway station on July 26. Officers were called to the scene on Station Road at around 7pm following a concern for the welfare of two people, BTP said in a statement.

She appeared at Warrington magistrates' court on July 28 and was remanded in custody. The police force confirmed Reid was now due to appear before a judge at Chester Crown Court on August 25.
