However, having entered administration last week, the club will receive a 12-point deduction at the end of the season from the EFL.If the Latics finish in the bottom three without any deduction, the penalty will then be carried across to next season, otherwise, it will be applied after all 46 league games have been played out.The club have confirmed, via their administrator, Gerald Krasner, that the club will appeal the EFL's decision.“The initial appeal has already been made by our solicitors," he told the press on Tuesday."We have before Friday this week to put in a substantive defence as to why the 12 points.
