Struggling Wigan Athletic left with 'costly' bill over vandalism near DW Stadium
manchestereveningnews.co.ukCash-strapped Wigan Athletic will be left with another bill to pay after yobs damaged astroturf patches near the DW Stadium.Police say they have been dealing with littering, vandalism and anti-social behaviour at the site.The pitches, behind the Ninja Warrior building on Stadium Way, have had panels ripped away and rubbish strewn across the surface.Officers have repeatedly been called to the area - and have issued a warning to vandals.In a post on GMP's Wigan West Facebook page, a spokesman for the force wrote: "Littering, criminal damage and anti-social behavior has become an increasing problem on the Wigan Athletic football playing pitches at the rear of the Ninja Warrior Wigan building."The below images highlight the extent of the issue.
