Huw Edwards is one of the BBC's most famous faces and most of us have probably seen him popping up on our screens as we watch the news.Since his career began as a BBC trainee in 1984, the Welsh newsreader has covered some of the most momentous stories in recent years such as the Queen's death, the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the London 2012 Olympics.But who actually is Huw Edwards and what has his career looked like as a presenter?

He graduated from University College in Cardiff with a degree in French in 1983 before moving on to study a Postgraduate in Medieval French at Cardiff University.

His first brush with the media happened when he left university and began doing some work with a local radio station, Swansea Sound, and after building some experience he was awarded a traineeship with the BBC - where the married father-of-five would spend most of his career.
