A mum who was abused by her stepfather has recorded a powerful video message urging neighbours to look out for signs of domestic violence during lockdown.

Kelly Sutherain, 42, was physically and emotionally tortured by her mother's partner for six years during her childhood. The mum-of-seven, from Wythenshawe, has since written a book - 'Three Strikes' - which details her harrowing experiences as a victim of domestic violence.

In response to the coronavirus pandemic, Kelly has teamed up with abuse survivor, John Junior, to give vital advice to those suffering violence while in isolation.

The National Domestic Abuse helpline has reported a 25% increase in calls and online requests for help since the lockdown began, charity Refuge says.
