A 'snowbomb' is set to roll across the UK at the end of the month, with the final storm of the year blanketing some areas in snow.

Colder systems are set to sweep the nation from December 27, while milder conditions are expected to continue for the rest of the week, according to Netweather.tv.

The Mirror and The Express say the cold system could create a 'snowbomb' if the pressure drops 24millibars in 24hours, coinciding with snowfall.
