Two men have been sentenced after a housebreaking in East Kilbride.Suspicious passers-by called the police after seeing Jay Lennox and Aiden Sharkey wearing balaclavas on a warm late spring day.They were later found to have broken into a flat in Haldane Place.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Neil Thomson, prosecuting, told Hamilton Sheriff Court: "Two men were seen wearing balaclavas. It was summer time and people were suspicious. "Police officers saw them running off and depositing something in shrubbery."A wallet was found there.

Officers went to the owner's flat and found the door had been forced open."The occupant was not present but confirmed later that there had been a break-in.
