Lowland League champions East Kilbride have been invited to take part in next season's Premier Sports Cup competition.East Kilbride, who could yet gain entry to League Two, should they win a play-off final against either Stranraer, Clyde or Bonnyrigg Rose, have been approached to take part, alongside Highland League champions Buckie Thistle and runners-up Brechin City.Buckie, of course, were due to face-off against East Kilbride in the Pyramid play-off semi-final, only to be barred from the competition because they don't have a bronze Scottish FA licence.
That, however, won't prevent them from taking part in the cup.Premier Sports are again sponsors of the League Cup this season, having reverted back to that due to the withdrawal of Viaplay, and the draw for the group stages will take place on Wednesday, May 29, at 1pm.With five SPFL clubs again taking part in UEFA competitions next season, the group stages will involve the remaining 37 clubs from season 2023/24, plus those three further clubs.Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onX via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onInstagramfor the latest sports news, pictures and video.
