MPs have led tributes to late footballing icon Walter Smith in Parliament as they recognised his "outstanding" contributions to Scottish football.

The legendary Rangers and Scotland manager died last month at the age of 73. Brendan O'Hara, SNP MP for Argyll and Bute, brought an adjournment debate to the Commons on Wednesday evening. "Walter Smith’s career hasn’t been a source of great personal joy and happiness for me - indeed, far from it," O'Hara, a Celtic fan, told MPs.
