Heartbroken family's tribute to 'legend' Scots dad killed after tree crushed truck amid Storm Arwen

A heartbroken family have led tributes to Scots  who died after his pick-up truck was hit by a falling tree, hailing him 'legend' who was 'taken too soon'.

David Lapage's Nissan Navara pick-up was struck on the B977 Dyce to Hatton Fintry Road in Aberdeenshire amid Storm Arwen on Friday, November 26.

Police today confirmed the 35-year-old as the victim of the incident, which took place around 5.45pm. His sister Siobhan has since launched a JustGiving page in his memory, with over £2,000 raised in just three days.

Writing a message on the page, she praised her brother and said he was 'a dear friend to many'.The statement read: "My brother David was tragically taken from us all on Friday evening in a bad storm.
