Tributes paid to 'inspirational' teacher who was loved by all

Tributes have been paid to an "inspirational" Livingston teacher who has sadly passed away.Social media has been flooded with messages from former students and colleagues since the death of former Dedridge Primary School teacher Neil Anderson.His colleagues also described him as having “a natural affinity for teaching and made all pupils feel special.”Mr Anderson started at Dedridge primary in 1988 as a class teacher he then went onto be deputy head teacher and also was acting head teacher for a short while.Dedridge and Glenvue Parent Council announced his sad passing on its Facebook page.Many messages of sympathy and tributes have been left since then.Isobel Shaw said: “This is so sad.

Mr A was amazing, thoughts with his family.”Darren McDonald added: “This genuinely breaks my heart. Was a fantastic teacher that inspired you to learn by making classes fun and enjoyable but more importantly was just an amazing human being.“Always had time for you no matter what he had going on.

The world is a poorer place with you Mr A. Sleep well.”And Danielle Smit added: “He’s an absolute Incredible teacher.“Such an inspiration and always wanted what’s best for each individual, even after leaving and growing up.

Will always and forever be my favourite teacher.”Colleagues said he enjoyed listening to stories from his pupils and would take a genuine interest in their personal lives including their hobbies and interests.For many years he organised residential trips for the school’s pupils and this was often the highlight of their year and as a colleague he was a natural communicator who was very supportive of fellow staff and he made education fun.He was respected and valued immensely by his colleagues.Dedridge Primary School Head
