Three clubs ‘in race’ for Kalvin Phillips after Pep Guardiola comments and more Man City transfer rumours

On Friday, Pep Guardiola said he was “so sorry” for being unable to implement the midfielder into his plans having previously refrained from denying a winter transfer departure for the player.
Phillips has not played for more than a month and has started just one of his eight matches this season. He has amassed just four minutes of Premier League playing time since the end of September and risks losing his spot in England’s Euro 2024 squad. Juventus are also in the frame and may be in a better position given they are not a direct domestic rival to City. It is thought more likely that Phillips gets loaned out in January, with his contract not expiring until 2028.
