This Morning slammed for triggering phobias as hosts recoil in fear and viewers say 'I can't watch'
ok.co.ukThis Morning has come under fire for setting off viewers' phobias after even the hosts couldn't hide their fright. In the episode on Thursday 29 August, presenters Craig Doyle and Sian Welby appeared uneasy as they were joined by an array of spiders and a lifelike spider toy.
Spider aficionado Professor James Logan was there to give tips on keeping spiders out of the house and discussed various types.
Both Sian and Craig seemed to struggle when James referred to the eight-legged guests as "beautiful." Holding up a container with a spider inside, Craig nervously remarked: "Ok let's look at it, and try to decide what we like about its face, and not see it as the enemy." James was quick to reassure him, saying: "They are not going to harm us at all.They do bite, but they prefer not to." Sian was visibly tense during the show, saying: "Oh it's moving, it's moving, that lid is on isn't it?" reports the Mirror.The segment took another terrifying turn when a toy tarantula started crawling across the studio floor.
Craig responded by throwing a conker at it while a startled Sian exclaimed: "I've got PTSD from this, can someone get rid of this spider toy please?"
