Thieves snatch jewellery worth thousands in early morning raid from Edinburgh shop

Edinburgh’s Royal Mile. Police were alerted to the Palenque shop on the High Street in the capital after reports of damage to a display window at around 8am this morning.

A cordon has been put up around the shop while officers continue their probe into the incident. Our partner title Edinburgh Live reports that the jewellers remains closed to customers as police stay at the scene.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Police were called at around 8am this morning, Sunday, November 15, 2020 to a report that the window of a jewellery shop on the High Street, Edinburgh, had been damaged. “A quantity of jewellery worth a four-figure sum was taken.
