Police raided a property on Silver Street after initially being called to reports of a flood. They found five rooms and a loft space being used to grow the class-B drug during the search on Monday.
Around 1,000 cannabis plants, which would be worth around £1million at street value, were discovered. They have since been destroyed.
Officers said they believe that people were living inside the property as they found two beds. No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
