The pair, who shot to fame on the Channel 4 show in 2016, met 12 years ago at a party and knew there was "something special" between them.
But despite hitting it off straight away, the former army officer had his doubts because of their 19 year age gap. Dick recently told the Belfast Telegraph: “We fell in love very quickly and had a wonderful time. “But then I told Angela it was time for her to find a young man [and] have children because I felt I shouldn’t keep her from that.” However it didn't bother the red head, now 43.
She explained: "Age is but a number, Dick has always had a wonderful energy and is so passionate about everything he does, I love that about him.” Dick also reflected on how amazing their love story is and how they managed to find each other.
