Supermarket turkey price wars are in full force as the fresh birds arrive in stores this week. The six main supermarkets have all cut their prices since last Christmas, shaving £1 or more off the per kg fee.
Aldi has already reduced its price since last week after revealing it was selling the cheapest turkey at £3.75 per kg. It's now brought that price down to £2.99, which is a quid cheaper than last year for its Ashfields range. And Tesco and Sainsbury's are more or less the same, with a £3 per kg price. You have to have their respective Clubcard and Nectar loyalty cards to get those prices though.
Asda and Morrisons are more expensive, with Asda's fresh turkey priced at £3.48 per kg and Morrisons' £3.79. At the cheapest stores, Aldi and Lidl, it means you can pick up a small fresh turkey for around £9.70.
