A teenage girl and her mother have described the 'emotional trauma' they experienced after a man forced his way into their home and brutally raped them both, while threatening to stab them.

Joshua Carney, 28, who was a stranger, forced his way into the home of his two victims on March 1, 2022, just five days after being released on licence for a spate of burglaries in 2017.

He has 47 previous offences to his name. Cardiff Crown Court heard how Mr Carney raped both mother and daughter repeatedly over a 15 minute period, all while telling the mother: "Tell me I'm your husband," reports WalesOnline.
