Comic book writer Gail Simone took to Twitter on Sunday, asking her 186,000 followers to post a photo from a film that left them terrified as a child. “Show ONE image from a horror movie that scared the hell out of you as a kid.
Please use hashtag #StillScaredDammit,” Simone wrote. More than a thousand film fans replied to the request, with some sharing snaps from old Hollywood horror productions from the 1930s and ’40s.
Others added photos from more recent decades. Given that Simone asked her followers to post pictures of films from their youth, many took the tweet as a chance to indulge in 1980s nostalgia. “Picture this — it’s the 80’s,” one person wrote. “I’m in either kindergarten or 1st grade.
