Spotify has confirmed that it will not be renewing Meghan Markle’s podcast Archetypes for a second series. The Spotify deal, which was estimated to be worth £18 million, was just one of many commercial partnerships that Meghan and Prince Harry entered into upon their exit of the royal family in 2020.
When Archetypes was announced in late 2020, Prince Harry said it would 'bring forward different perspectives and voices that perhaps you haven't heard before. 'A joint statement today from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's production company Archewell Audio and Spotify said: 'Spotify and Archewell Audio have mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together. 'A representative on behalf of Meghan's told the Wall Street Journal, 'The team behind Archetypes remain proud of the podcast they created at Spotify.
Meghan is continuing to develop more content for the Archetypes audience on another platform. 'Archetypes, which ran for 12 episodes from August 2022, had a successful first season.
Two days after its premiere, it was the number-one podcast in the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada on Spotify's international charts.
