Spain's women's football team are now refusing to play again until the president of the Spanish football federation Luis Rubiales resigns following the kissing scandal.

Spain's team beat England's Lionesses at the FIFA World Cup final in Australia last Sunday but Luis Rubiales has received widespread condemnation after kissing midfielder Jenni Hermoso on the lips without consent during the presentation.

Now the entirety of the Spanish Women's World Cup football team and dozens of other players said on Friday they would no longer represent their country until Luis Rubiales is removed as the president and head of the national football federation.

After the victory in which Spain scored a 1-0 win over England, Rubiales grabbed player Hermoso and kissed her on the lips during the awards ceremony.
