Two months ago a vital facility which had served generations in the heart of Salford was destroyed by arsonists. No one has been arrested or charged despite the cost of the damage being several million pounds.
In addition there has been no clear word from the council as to how, when, and if Clarendon Leisure Centre will be replaced.
But the City Mayor has now made a direct appeal to those who know the identity of the culprits as GMP revealed that they have closed the inquiry.
When it comes to replacing the building, the Manchester Evening News can reveal one option being considered is to build a brand new sports centre on a cleared plot in Pendleton near where Brydon Close and the former Brass Handles pub stood.
