Six flood alerts remain in place across eastern Scotland following yesterday’s Storm Arwen chaos. A rare red weather warning was issued by the Met Office on Friday ahead of 80mph gusts descending on the country.
Trees fell onto roads, public transport was brought to a standstill and debris was thrown across Scotland’s streets during the adverse conditions.
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) issued a number of flood alerts due to high waves on coastal areas of eastern Scotland.
Six of those alerts remain in place today as Scots are warned of more travel disruption in the aftermath of Storm Arwen. Flood alerts are still in place for Aberdeenshire, Dundee and Angus, Edinburgh and Lothians, Fife, Moray and the Scottish Borders.
