Heroes of the hour FeldyRoo helped the people who couldn't cook after the storm

Volunteer cooks, meal packers and delivery drivers from Aberfeldy ’s #FeldyRoo project were the heroes of the hour on Saturday as Highland Perthshire surveyed the damage of Storm Arwen.

Surrounding villages in the Loch Tay area - Acharn, Balnaskeag, Fearnan, Fortingall, Dull, Weem, and properties on the Strathtay road were without power.

But #FeldyRoo, set up in lockdown 2020 to deliver food to the housebound, went right back to work. Over 200 meals - hot steak pie and chips - went out of the catering kitchens of two Aberfeldy pubs at Saturday lunchtime, and raised the spirit of people who could not get their electric stove on and had freezing homes without power.
