During the eighth season, she informed her co-star Bre Tiesi of her supposed ownership and even organised a girls' trip to flaunt the area to her new friends.The episode's broadcast sparked outrage among Pioneertown residents, prompting them to denounce the reality TV star in a public statement published in the Pioneertown Gazette.The statement highlighted the rich history and diverse community that felt slighted by her remarks: "These claims belittle generations of artists, neighbours, nature lovers, community members, musicians, small business owners and otherwise magnificent people of Pioneertown." It further clarified the actual ownership situation: "Pioneertown is a mile-square census-designated community with over 400 residents and is privately owned by more than 100 independent parties", reports the Mirror. "Mrs Gold has a small minority non-controlling interest in an entity that owns six of thirty-five parcels in the Mane Street area, constituting less than 1% of Pioneertown's total 640 acres.
