Scots teen fighting for life after being hit by van while crossing street

hit by a van while crossing a Scots road.The 19-year-old was raced to hospital after the Renault Master vehicle hit her as she crossed Seafield Road in Ayr at around 4.10pm on Friday.Cops were called to the scene near the street's junction with with Racecourse Road.She was taken by ambulance to University Hospital in Ayr and then later transferred to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.Hospital staff describe her condition as critical and say she is being treated for a head injury.Inspector Greg Dinnie from the Divisional Road Policing Unit urged any witnesses to come forward.He said: “The 19 year-old woman was crossing the road with her friend when she was struck by the van.
