Scots mum left ‘30 minutes from death’ after carbon monoxide poisoning from BBQ on staycation trip

carbon monoxide poisoning on a camping trip has issued a warning to others. Louise Ramsay was enjoying a break away near Loch Earn, Perth and Kinross, with her partner Danny in April after converting a van into a camper for more comfortable staycations.

The couple had set up for the night and enjoyed a BBQ in a secluded spot before putting it back inside the van when it began to cool down.

But after going to bed, the mum-of-two woke just hours later with a pounding headache and feeling dizzy before suffering a terrifying seizure.

Her quick thinking partner managed to call an ambulance and she was rushed to Forth Valley Royal Hospital where they discovered she had been poisoned by the BBQ.
