Scots drug courier for crime gang jailed after police find £800,000 stash
dailyrecord.co.ukTwo highland drug dealers have been jailed for over a decade after police discovered a high-value stash of Class A drugs.Garry Jordan, 35, and Steven McCallum, 34, were arrested in Aviemore in 2020 after a police operation recovered 5kg of cocaine with a street value of around £800,000.
Convicted in August, Jordan was handed five years and eight months and McCallum was sentenced to four years in prison at the High Court in Edinburgh on Wednesday 5 October.
Police Scotland have welcomed the sentencing of the two men and thanked the public for the 'vital' role they played in the investigation.Detective Inspector Andrew Ingram said: “We welcome the convictions and today’s sentencing of Jordan and McCallum for their involvement in the supply of controlled drugs.“The operation resulted in drugs with a potential street value in excess of £800,000 being seized.“These convictions send out a clear message that drug crimes will not be tolerated and Police Scotland will target those involved.“The public continue to play a vital role in assisting our investigations into drugs related activity and anyone with concerns about drugs, or who has information about those involved in this type of crime should contact Police Scotland through 101.“Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.” Don't miss the latest news from around Scotland and beyond - Sign up to our daily newsletter here.
