Scots couple reunited with cat missing for 11 years after it's found 80 miles away from home

A Scots couple have been reunited with their beloved cat more than a decade after he went missing from their home. After receiving a missed call from the Cats Protection, Fiona Mutter assumed her tabby Fergus had been found dead.

But the 45-year-old was stunned to discover the elusive feline was found safe and well in Aberdeen - almost 80 miles away from her home in Forres, Moray.

Fergus, now aged 14, had been microchipped meaning Cats Protection volunteers were able find Fiona, reports Aberdeen Live. After the spectacular reunion, Fiona said: "We are still just completely shocked."Fergus went missing 11 years ago and we never thought he would be found."I had a missed call last Saturday lunchtime from a mobile number then received a text from the lost and found at Cats Protection regarding Fergus."I thought they had maybe found his body and they were phoning to tell me he was deceased but they had actually found him."I'm still in shock from the moment we were reunited with him."He's already settled back in along with our other cat Ozzy who we got after Fergus went missing."Since September, Fergus was being fed and given a place to sleep by staff at Aberdeen's recycling centre.A Cats Protection volunteer this month spotted a Facebook post from a concerned member of the public in October asking if Fergus belonged to anyone.The volunteer managed to track down the moggy and Fergus was handed over to his flabbergasted family last Saturday.Fiona says Fergus' miraculous return proves how important microchipping is for pets."My kids were just little at the time when Fergus went missing so now that he's back they're delighted," she said."I really wish Fergus could speak and tell us where he's been and what he's been up to all
