Aberdeen in the next four weeks. The Dons were dealt a hammer blow on the eve of the opening league match against Rangers when the big striker tore a cartilage in his knee.

It was initially feared he could miss four months.But the Englishman - who knocked back a £2million move to Guingamp in the summer - has been given the all clear to resume training after scans showed the injury healing.

And in a double boost to boss Derek McInnes, Leeds loanee Ryan Edmundson could be back in action in two weeks. The striker - brought in to cover Cosgrove last month - broke down with an ankle injury just two weeks after moving north.
