Ryanair refuse teenager on flight despite their passport meeting the new EU rule

A teenager has been denied boarding a plane by Ryanair despite him having five months left on his passport. He was complying with all of the new and complex Brexit travel rules.

Zak Schoneville, 15, was due to fly out to Tenerife on Monday, May 2 with his family. His parents Lisa and Neil along with Zak's sister Lilly arrived at Glasgow Prestwick airport at 4am ahead of their 6.10am flight.

However when they went to board the plane they were told that they would not be flying. Ryanair claimed that Zak's passport had expired even though it had five months left on it, reports The Mirror. It meets the current European Union requirements of being less than 10 years old and having at least three months' validity on the passenger's return date.
