Russell Brand's father-in-law is famous golfer who was at first unhappy about relationship

Russell Brand married into a sporting family when he tied the knot with Laura Gallacher in 2017. Recent allegations against the controversial comedian accused him of rape, sexual assaults and emotional abuse during a seven-year period.

Brand denies this, but is being investigated by The Metropolitan Police and Los Angeles Police Department, plus former employers the BBC, Channel 4 and production company Banijay UK, reports the Daily Mirror .Brand uploaded a video on to YouTube in the hours before the details of the allegations were made public and in it he stated that all his relationships had been consensual.

His wife and mother of his two children, Laura, 36, is standing by him.Laura is the sister of Sky Sports presenter Kirsty Gallacher and both are daughters of legendary golfer Bernard Gallacher, 74.He is is reportedly supportive of Brand’s relationship with his daughter, which first started in 2007.Brand, is 12 years older than his wife, and the couple have two children together: Mabel and Peggy, and are currently expecting a third child.The pair have had a turbulent relationship and broke up and got back together on four occasions.

Eventually, they married in a small service at Remenham Church near their £3million home in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, in August 2017.In 2016, when the first pregnancy was announced, Bernard and his wife Lesley said they were “very happy” with the news.
