Red Nose Day is returning to Salford's MediaCityUK for its live 2024 broadcast tonight (Friday March 15). It will see a stellar line-up of comedians and actors entertain the nation in live performances and hilarious sketches - all in aid of Comic Relief.
The charity was founded by scriptwriter Richard Curtis and comedian Sir Lenny Henry almost 40 years ago and supports people in poverty, those at risk of domestic abuse and families affected by conflict and climate change.
Friday's broadcast will see Sir Lenny host the iconic televised fundraiser for the final time. Asked how it feels to hand over the baton, Sir Lenny said: "It feels great.
I love Comic Relief and I've been doing it for 39 years. I'm a life president for the charity and I'm still going to be supporting other Comic Relief and Red Nose Day projects throughout the year, like recruiting new talent, doing voiceovers etc.
