Ray D’Arcy shares the wise advice his son Tom gave him after The Den was cancelled

Many Irish people were left gutted this week by the news that classic TV show The Den would not be returning for a new season despite coming back in lockdown.

Now, Ray D’arcy who presented the beloved kid’s show for most of the 1990s, has revealed how his young son Tom comforted him after he received the disappointing news.

Speaking on his RTÉ radio show, the presenter said: ‘Tom is aged nine. And he was the strong one in the relationship last night, we were having the chat while I was putting him to bed.’ Ray, who reunited with his old friends Dustin, Zig and Zag for a six-episode series of the show last year, explained he made a promise to his young son to make his voice heard.
