The Queen’s funeral will take place on Monday 19 September in what will be a state ceremony at Westminster Abbey attended by many members of the Royal Family and foreign dignitaries.
The service will begin at 11am after the Queen’s coffin is taken in procession from the Palace of Westminster, where it has been Lying-in-State, to Westminster Abbey.
Before the service, the Abbey’s tenor bell will be tolled once a minute for 96 minutes, one bell for each year of The Queen’s life.The State Funeral will be led by the Dean of Westminster, Dr David Hoyle, and the sermon will be given by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby.
Ahead of the service, a procession of representatives from faith communities across the United Kingdom will take place.
