A prolific drug dealer was out dealing Spice again in Piccadilly Gardens a short time after being released from prison. Lamar Morton, 25, has now been locked up for three years and four months after he was caught by police just before the coronavirus lockdown was imposed.
He ran away after becoming spooked by officers. A judge told Morton: "You simply will not learn your lesson." Manchester Crown Court heard that on Sunday, March 22, the day before the lockdown was imposed by the Prime Minister, Morton came to the attention of police at about 2.25pm.
He 'seemed to be aware the officers were observing him', prosecutor Gavin Howie said. Morton, from Oldham, then ran off towards Piccadilly station.
