Jose Mourinho has claimed Alexis Sanchez was 'not happy' playing for Manchester United in England. Mourinho's Roma side lost 2-0 against Inter Milan on Tuesday night and Alexis Sanchez scored the second goal at the San Siro.

The forward joined Inter Milan on loan from United for the 2019/20 season and signed permanently for the Italian giants on a free transfer the following summer, after agreeing to waive the final two years of his lucrative contract at United.

Sanchez has scored six goals, recording four assists this term and he won the Scudetto under Antonio Conte last season, however, the player's time spent in Manchester was tainted with disappointment as the Chilean didn't deliver as supporters hoped.

Mourinho has previously claimed Sanchez was unhappy at United and he followed up on those comments on Tuesday night. “I spoke with him [Sanchez] at the start of the match," Mourinho told reporters. "In England he was not happy, it was not his natural habitat, it is here." Sanchez scored just five goals for United, with only three from that tally coming in the Premier League.
