An investigation has been launched into the cause of a huge fire which ripped through an industrial unit in Wythenshawe. There were ten fire engines on the scene at the height of the blaze last night, as fire fighters worked to bring it under control.

Footage showed huge flames rising from an industrial unit, sending large plumes of smoke billowing into the air. The fire spread to the first and second floor of the industrial premises.

"Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus worked hard throughout the night to tackle the blaze and successfully bring it under control using hose reels, ground monitors, a jet, and other specialist equipment and appliances. "Crews have been damping down at the scene this morning. "An investigation will be carried out to determine the cause of the fire."
